Today’s XLt Radar picks begin with a little newsflash warning from the predictable MSM madness. More nuclear submarines are coming to your dinner table. Three Horsemen of the Lobotomied Circus converge at a port yesterday in San Diego California to announce a multi-billion-dollar “Aukus-meets-Schmuckus” deal to ensure safety in an increasingly volatile world … made infinitely unsafer by said-idiots in business suits shaking hands and radiating their big military industrial imperial complex smiles.
But let’s bypass that shitstream for the moment, there’s tons of inspiring Kiez Kultur news in Btropolis… and we’ll have to change the world from below, one step + one daring leap at a time … so stay upbeat… and ready for action !

If you have trouble deciding where to go and/or have limited funds ( and time ) to spend, remember that supporting local Kiez cultural spaces and local makers should probably be our priority ! And many of those type of alternative events are actually based on mutual solidarity, and are often negotiable OR with “no one turned away for lack of funds” policies ( i.e. spaces like Regenbogenfabrik, Laidak, Villa K., KvU, KØPI, etc. ). That said, we all do have our “guilty pleasures” and so a killer konzert at ‘commercial’ venues like Festsaal, S036, Delphi, HAU, etc, is definitely a part of a healthy + diverse anarcho-psychic-survival package in Btropolis !
And DEMOS + STREET ACTIONS are generally RADICAL SOCIAL FREEBIES for the PEEPS with A CAUSE :)
Please Note: We Can’t take time to list everything we would LIKE, so please be aware there are some other really useful calendars we recommend for all you insurrectionary and kiez kultur needs, i.e. :
Stressfaktor Termine // + // Mobilize.Berlin ( Fediverse ) // + // EchtZeitMusik ( from Ausland ) // + // Field Notes …
And, we are still experimenting with how to format our XLt Radar picks… And we’ll need to come back and add more dates + info + links… So come back and check this page. Also check our very FIRST XLt Radar - for March - HERE which repeats some of things on Radar #2 but with more detail + images.

There’s so many things coming up and things we want to write about that the XLt analysts feel like our Radar Facility is about to explode!
We are also trying to keep our Sub Stack afloat ( and other cultures of resistance endeavors )… and would like to point out that we could definitely use YOUR SUPPORT at this time ! If you are able to DONATE to our projects, please drop us an email at : Podinski (at) Mailbox (dot) org and ASK HOW! … We are currently NOT into creating a paywall here, nor taking money through the Sub Stack Data mechanisms… But we can receive digital donations by other channels. And very happy to meet up on the Kultur Trails at some event or cafe for In-person transactions. We look fwd to hearing from YOU.
_______________ ( ____ ___ XLt Analysis ___ _____ _____ ) _______________
Image : From Gamut Inc.’s new R.U.R production
Hard to decide where to start with XLt analysis 2day, but from a literary + cultural critique angle, we are suddenly very intrigued that Gamut Inc. is back with a new production ( trilogy ) at Theater im Delphi - presenting an accelerated modern times revisitation of Karel Čapek’s RUR - Rossums Universal Robots play, which includes automated compositions. Čapek’s 1920 sci-fi play introduced the word “robot” to our vocabularies globally + practically ‘overnight’. Already by 1923 it had been translated into 30 languages. It was definitely no celebration of the industrialized post-human predicaments. It was an apocalyptic dystopia intervention, and it surely captured the zeitgeist of the humans, so shook up by WW1 and the unfolding Fordist/Taylorist paths of scientific management that began seizing the natural world and society in its mechanical war-hinged maw.
( Pic: a Bengali book cover version for R.U.R )
Interesting to note, Čapek’s Robots are not machines but artificial people produced in factories out of synthetic organic matter. Something to analyze another time. Here’s the wikipedia synopsis, if you want to glimpse it’s original + radically influential plot.
It’s not clear how Gamut will handle this material, and we hope to find time to investigate it. Their whole modus operandi as a production company is as a “ retro-futuristic ensemble making musical theatre and playing computer-controlled music machines that they develop themselves. The core of the ensemble is made up of computer-musician Marion Wörle and composer Maciej Śledziecki.” They also produce the international Aggregate Festival for automated pipe organs in 21st century music.
From our initial encounter just a few months ago with their multi-media adaptation of the film “Pi “- from Darren Aranofsky - a very-skilled and rich-aesthetical staging - we concluded that it could be seen more as an embrace of the technological-heavy + disruptive devolutions, rather than a critical analysis or framework for dissent.
Our * Critical Theory Antennae * were especially boosted by watching this thoroughly bizarre midnite lecture from Martin Burkhardt ( cultural theorist and playwright ), back in 2016, as part of Gamut’s “Wir Sind Die Roboter” festival also at Delphi.
But that’s a whole pool of complex themes the XLt team will have to come back to in more detail. But, as a brief starter….
Mechanical “music” can be in our view as controversial as GPT Chat and the whole A.I. industry invasions… it’s immensely complicated… and like A Music Scanned Darkly ! Does this open up the pandora’s box to more Bad Techno meets Muzak meets Spotify meets Automaton-Replicant genres?! Not to mention, it tends to lend a greenwashing sheen to AI + Algorithms + Endless Corporate Gear Bots + IT Markets, which are not only advancing tools for unsavory purposes and krapitalist extractivism, but also taking away and/or industrializing our ( meaningful, non-bullshit ) jobs, our embodied fun of making + sharing ( not pushing buttons and writing code on dreary screens in solitary, isolating cubicles ), our passions, our artist livelihoods, and our highly sophisticated means of learning to communicate our human experiences and emotions ( on the pre-literate and non-verbal and/or Higher planes ). Another form of entertainment Fordism ?! And many other questions that have arisen over the years regarding the computer’s volatile mutations and intrusion into ART MAKING + ART OF LIFE from an XLt-art-organism perspective.
